SEND Arts Award adviser training

What are SEND adviser training courses?

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) adviser training courses are for anyone who wants to deliver Arts Award to children or young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or other additional needs.

Arts Award was created to be accessible to children and young people of all abilities and we have many years' experience training advisers to support those with SEND. Our trainers will give you specific advice, guidance and support to help young people with special needs on their Arts Award journey.

When you complete SEND training, you gain exactly the same status as you would on any other Arts Award adviser training course at the same levels. Doing the specialist SEND training course doesn't mean you can only offer Arts Award to young people with additional needs.

How are SEND training courses different?

Our specialist trainers have wide-ranging knowledge of delivering Arts Award in SEND settings. The trainer running your course will focus on delivering Arts Award to young people with SEND, drawing examples and case studies from projects involving those with special educational needs, disabilities or other learning difficulties. You'll learn accessible approaches and practical techniques to help your students gather and present the evidence they need to achieve their chosen level of Arts Award.
